Evening meeting with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Prithviraj Chavan - Thursday, 2 June 2011 at Mumbai

“ The Mumbai Chapter of the EBG organised a meeting with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Prithviraj Chavan on Thursday 2nd.June.  The event was held at ‘Sahyadri’ (the official State guest house).  The CM was accompanied by Mr. Azeez Khan – the Principal Secretary (Industries).  The event started by 35 to 40 heads of European companies gathering for tea at 5.30pm.  Companies represented by their CEOs included Clariant, Novartis, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, Fuchs, Salzgitter-Mannesmann, Hafele, Indo German Chamber of Commerce, and many more.  Also present was Dr. Theodore Leopold Heldman - the German Consul General.
The Chief Minister was welcomed at the entrance by members of the EBG Mumbai Council and escorted to the meeting.  Raman Sidhu – Events Chairman of EBG introduced the CM to the audience, after which the CM spoke on Investment Opportunities in Maharashtra.  This was followed by a question-answer session, at which the CM comprehensively and candidly answered all the queries raised.  At the end of the meeting Kersi Hilloo – EBG Mumbai Chapter Chairman presented the EBG Plaque to the CM.
The Chief Minister thereafter invited all the delegates for ‘High Tea’, during which he mingled with the participants and informally exchanged views with them.”
